Capri, Italy has long been a favorite amongst vacationers. The famous island is only reachable by boat yet continues to draw in more than 3 million tourists each year (Capri Tourism). It’s no wonder why – the picturesque white washed buildings with colorful flowers draped from balconies coupled with crystal clear waters so blue they look Photoshopped are too good to be true, but they certainly aren’t and as soon as you visit you’ll fall in love just like everyone else who have visited.
Planning for a vacation is fun, but many people get so overwhelmed with the logistics of it. There are so many aspects to consider: traveling and accommodations, where do we stay? What time should go there? Will this trip be worth all the effort or stress it will cost me… The list goes on…
To start with, the best times to visit Capri are May, September and October. During these months, crowds are much smaller than in the summer but you still have great weather. My favorite time is in the spring when the flowers are blooming. You can also catch a glimpse of wonderful boats if you go during The Rolex Capri Sailing Week regatta.
The island of Capri is famous for so many reasons. It has stunning natural beauty especially in Anacapri, delicious cuisine at their restaurants, luxury hotels on Capri and a world-class shopping district. It’s also a place to be seen. There’s a reason why so many famous celebrities, actors and models anchor yachts in Marina Grande.
Their hotels and resorts are world class. Capri is one of the smallest islands in the Mediterranean Sea, and a tourist hot-spot. With only about 5,000 residents living on this island you can be sure that it won’t feel crowded at all, especially in the off-season. Capri has also become famous for its luxury hotels over time with many resorts resembling little cities with amenities such as their own private beaches and marinas.
Luxury Hotels on Capri
J.K. Place Capri
One of my favorite luxury hotels on Capri is J.K. Place Capri. it is set into the cliffs of the enchanting island. They have 22 rooms that echo the style and concept of a luxury house combined with the light and color of the sea. In the rooms, the classical style is enhanced by sunny curtains and luminous white floors. This style highlights the views of the Capri coastlines through the windows and balconies. J.K. SPA offers a choice of spectacular treatments by blending Mediterranean traditions with modern techniques. JKITCHEN features traditional Mediterranean cuisine and a panoramic terrace. It is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine and a brilliant sunset. Click here to learn more!
Capri Tiberio Palace
Capri Tiberio Palace is another one of my favorite luxury hotels on Capri with its glamorous Mediterranean escape. It is in close proximity to the beach and perfectly situated for exploring the heart of Capri. The hotel features 45 impeccably detailed guest rooms, most with sea views. Architect Giampiero Panepinto has juxtaposed soft pastels, inlaid majolica floors, and black-and-white stills from the town’s Hollywood heyday. There’s also a mosaic-lined pool and impressive spa. Dine by candlelight at Ristorante Terrazza Tiberio. They offer a blend of Mediterranean and Italian cuisine which even features a kosher section. Or, sip a drink and take in the views at the Jacky Bar. Click here to learn more!
Caesar Augustus Relais & Chateaux
Perched on the cliff edge 1,000 feet above the sea, this iconic luxury hotel boasts breathtaking views of the Bay of Naples from every window, balcony, and terrace. You could easily spend your entire vacation here! Take a stroll in Caesar Augustus’ fragrant terraced gardens. Indulge in some panoramic pampering in the sea-view wellness facility, or simply soaking up the sun by the infinity-edge pool. For an eating experience you’ll never forget, book one of La Terrazza di Lucullo’s secluded “special tables”. They are located in particularly panoramic corners of the property. Want to get out and explore? My favorite thing to do is book a boat tour and visit the Blue Grotto! Click here to learn more!
Punta Tragara
A stylish make-over has upped the glam factor at Punta Tragara. The count-owned villa had already boasted the best perch on Capri. It is high above the sea, overlooking the iconic Faraglioni rock formations. Now the 44 individually appointed rooms have a fresh feel, with sumptuous marble bathrooms and private terraces or balconies. Dine at Le Monzù Gourmet Restaurant’s veranda for island favorites. Make sure you reserve an exclusive table at Michelin-starred Mammà Restaurant and taste chef Salvatore La Ragione’s twist on Mediterranean cuisine. Let the staff take care of you at the Gili Wellness Area and Hair Boutique. Click here to learn more!
